Obama–Gun Salesman Of The Year
AmmoLand brought this to The Mayor’s attention, and I thank them for it:
USA Buys Enough Guns in 3 Months to Outfit the Entire Chinese and Indian Army
Law abiding US citizens bought on average 3,177,256 guns every 3 months in 2008.EveryTown, USA - -(AmmoLand.com)- In just 3 months Americans bought enough guns to outfit the entire Chinese and Indian army’s combined.
“You cannot invade the mainland United States. There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass.” – Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto WWII
You also bought 1,529,635,000 rounds of ammunition in just the month of December 2008. Yeah that is right, that is Billion with a “B”. This number takes no accounting of reloading or reloaded ammunition.
This is an evaluation of overall firearms and ammunition purchases based on low end numbers per Federal NIC instacheck database statistics. The numbers presented are only PART of the overall numbers of arms and ammunition that have been sold. The actual numbers are much higher.
It has also come to the attention of The Mayor that the NRA are giving away a one year membership to their organization absolutely free–whether you own a gun or not.

For the past three months there has been a drastic shortage of reloading components in Canada, due to citizens of the USA buying up everything in sight.
I guess there’s a lack of trust in certain politicians.

I bought my first guns after Obama was elected. I honestly don’t think he’s going to try and put in any bans, but I figure, why take a chance?
It’s not even really getting firearms that is the problem (unless you want an AR-10, or AK-47 derivative, which are either tough to find or expensive as hell), it’s ammunition that is scarce. A box of 20 7.62×39mm that went for $2 a couple of years ago is going for $7.50 now (and it’s the only ammo that will go in my Yugo SKS). 9mm and .45 ACP is nearly impossible to find as well, from what I hear, so now people are getting .40 S&W–and THAT’S running out now, too. Even squirrel-plinking .22LR is costing quite a bit.
If I had the capital, I’d just run a gun shop here in the states for the next 4-8 years. it’s practically the only American industry that’s roaring right now.
