The Mayor Ponders…

I wonder if the guy that wrote the song Baa Baa Black Sheep  thought that no one would notice he ripped off the tune for Twinkle Twinkle Little Star?

I also wonder if the guy that wrote The Alphabet Song  thought that no one would notice he ripped off the tune for Twinkle Twinkle Little Star AND Baa Baa Black Sheep?

I wonder if the guy that wrote the song Twinkle Twinkle Little Star  stayed up at night going over scenarios in his mind how he was going to murder those two rip-off artists?

Sounds like someone’s been singing/whistling or humming too many songs to his little itsy bitsy daughter…or been doing waaay too much thinkin’.

Everytime I watch a University of Texas game on TV I wonder how they could rip off “I’ve been working on the railroad” and think they could get away with it.

“The Eyes of Texas are Upon You” sounds exactly the same.

Boy, if this idea catches on, half the Country singers in the business will be busted for plagiarism.

“Wabash Cannonball”, “Grand Coulee Dam”, etc.

And “My Country ’tis of thee”- God Save the King”.

Hm. The only original piece is “Eine Kleine Nachtmusik”, by that squarehead, whatisname, everything else derived from it.

And, Mayor, with that bullfrog voice of yours, be careful you don’t frighten the little angel! ;-)

I was wondering how you knew about my bullfrog voice, and then I remembered *the call* a while back.

    Good show!

Worse, the tune is the “Old Hundredth” and more generally “The Doxology”.
    From a Frenchman in 1551.

    Cheers
