That wasn’t a gaffe, that was a Freudian slip.

The guy can’t even read off his Teleprompter correctly–given the functional illiterates that voted for him, this is hardly surprising.

  2. dmorris Says:

I have to agree with Chris.

This has happened to me when I’m about to bullshit the troops, and usually results in laughter and calls of “Freudian slip”! At that point I concede.

Obama told the truth as he KNOWS it,for once.

  3. nancy Says:

Yea, he told the truth for once.

“This isn’t about me. This isn’t about politics. This is about a health care system that is breaking America’s families, breaking America’s businesses, and breaking America’s economy,” Obama said on a visit to a Washington hospital.

Yes indeed it is… that’s exactly what it’s about.

Mike has a point. If Obama really did say that on a visit to a Washington hospital, he is at least 1/3 spot-on correct!

“Health care” is breaking businesses. I worked as an executive for a major corporation, until being fired recently…very recently…like, TODAY.

Our most important challenge in the board room always seemed to be juggling the books to show enough cash on hand to convince stockholders, and the line-workers, (and Blue Cross) that we would be able to make next month’s health insurance premium payments. (I will not divulge the accounting tricks used, as it might cost me dearly)

The thing that pained me most about the whole thing is that it seems that no one really cared about producing toys any longer. I lost my heart years ago. It became all about paying for health care.

Nobody cared any more about GI Joe, or Optimus Prime…and worst of all, no one wanted to take the time to play a friendly game of Monopoly.

Every one of my fellow executives lost the balls to tear the heart out of the evil rascals from Mattel. It truly became a chore to make them laugh at “Barbie jokes.” I was a stranger in a foreign land.

But not to worry…they won’t have Andy to kick around anymore! They can pour over their figures with their Actuaries in a vain attempt to provide health care for all of their employees while staying in business. They will not succeed!

As long as they ALL care more about their own health than the production of really cool toys at a price the public can afford for the children, they are doomed!

We must decide as a society which option is more important.

Mike is right. The health care system is breaking America’s businesses.

  6. Mike Says:

I mean the idea of socialized medicine is to break families, businesses, and the economy, so that they can be changed into something more convenient for people who do government for a living.

Families and businesses marshal resources, incentives, and loyalties that get in the way of perfecting society. People must be encouraged not to rely on them, but on the government.

Public health care is a strong step towards this goal.
