MindTrap Friday

Considering that I thought last week’s questions were extremely hard, I was quite surprised at how many people did so well. Are you people taking your omega 3 pills every morning, or something? Fish oils are great for brain development, and I have this feeling that you folks must be bathing in it.

The answers for last week’s questions are:

1) The son would get 4/7, the mother, 2/7 and the daughter, 1/7

2) Catcher and umpire

3) 27

Let’s find out who last week’s winners are…

The winners for last week MindTrap Friday are Finn and Rob Huck.

And the interesting part about this, is that if you intermingle Finn’s and Huck’s names, you get Huck Finn. That’s pretty funny, especially considering that not only did Huck Finn invent electricity, he also invented MindTrap. That’s a true story, you should go tell your friends.

Congratulations to Finn and Rob Huck, MindTrap Friday’s Smarty Panted Winners of the Week.

There are no prizes to give you this week, but I’m sure you both will be happy by the firm handshake I will give you and the manly pat on the back with the encouraging words of, “good job, you two, I’m awfully proud of you.” Man, are you ever lucky, my words are more powerful than Chinese currency.

Once again, the questions I’m about to give you are not easy. I read them to a really smart person this morning, and now she has a headache–so be careful.

Let’s git ‘er dun!

1) Each of the words shown below contains the letters OCT. Definitions are given and the number of letters is shown for each. Fill in the words:

A form of firework: _ _ _ _ O C _ _ T
A form of marine life: O C T _ _ _ _

A soup: _ O C _ T _ _ _ _ _

2) All the vowels have been removed from the following
proverb, and the remaining letters broken into groups
of three letters each. Replace the vowels to find
the proverb.

3) I lost my wallet, and I don't remember how much
money I had, but I remember thinking
the first time I bought something that it cost me
10 percent of what I had. Then I noticed that the
second purchase was also exactly 10 percent of what
I had left.My sales slips totaled $19.

How much was in the wallet when I lost it?

As soon as I guess what language the questions are in, I’m going to give them a guess.

Good luck to all that play this week. As always, we welcome new players, in fact, we encourage it. Since Obama won a few nights ago, we only have hope here in Mitchieville. As in, we hope you play, we hope you stay around for a while, and we hope that lump on your neck is nothing serious. Yes, I know it’s disgusting and impossible to look at, but here’s hoping it’s nothing serious.

#2 and #3 questions run off the page under the right sidebar and cannot be read my me – even with my superior intellect, and the fact that I’m wearing no pants.

Does this mean I’m going to get a wart?

  2. The Mayor Says:

I was captured by the elfs at the TTC and was forced to say “REDROCKET” (its cute name for the subway) instead of the real answer, which was SKYROCKET. Now that I have regained consciousness … boy, what a trip … I would like to formally amend my humble response.
