Tuesday’s Interactive Flip Flop Thread

**Thanks to J.M. Heinrichs for the idea

This is an open thread in which I encourage everyone to participate. The idea is that you are only allowed to post the exact opposite of what you believe.

I’ll start the ball rolling:

I believe that Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty’s plan to harmonize the GST with the PST is an idea which will save taxpayers hundreds of millions, if not billions of dollars every year. Even though products that don’t currently have GST on them will soon be 5% more expensive, I believe that through better accounting and record keeping, this will more than offset the 5% increase Ontario citizens will soon be paying.

Wow, that was therapeutic.

Care to give it a try?

  1. Nurse Kate Says:

Excellent post,Mayor! As you know,I’ve always believed higher taxation leads to economic recovery!

I mean, lookit what Obama is doing in the U.S.!

Now,McGuinty should raise Health Care premiums, and tax then with the new HST. This, I believe, would make for a more perfect Ontario.

Oh, and what about a corporate capital tax, do you have that yet?

  2. dmorris Says:

Of course, the preceding was MY damned post, not Kate’s.

    Mutter.

  3. Andy Says:

Daughter been goofin’ with ya’ again dmorris? Nyuk…

I believe that Elvis really did die in 1977, and that 9/11 was an inside job perpetrated by “them Jooooooz!”

  4. poletax Says:

I can’t wait to give up all my firearms and reloading equipment.
The Police will protect me when I visit downtown Chicago and Detroit.
I also think that Jugears and VP Bidet are doing a fantastic job of running the United States guvmint.
Oh, and that Moshell, she is such a Hawt Chick.

  5. Rocky Says:

The government should definitely extract wealth from the profitable sectors of society and sprinkle them on those struggling. This is what a free market is all about!

Oh yeah, and the 9/11 thing. Sure, that would be easy to keep secret.

  6. Ed Says:

Errrmmmm… Mitchieville is a very conservative town? :S

  7. mare Says:

I think governments should be big, really big for a few reasons; one, big governments are more efficient. Two, the more people you have working for the government the more self motivated and productive they will be. And three, we need lots of bureaucrats because they know best about spending our money and how to micro manage our lives.

  8. Chuck from Tacoma Says:

Thank God that the future of my family and nation are in the hands of such a capable leader as Obama.
I am certain that after 15 months unemployed, I will find a suitable job this week.

(and posting this helps me not to feel like barfing)

  9. tfhr Says:

    I like vowels – I’d buy one if I could just find one that wasn’t a, e, i, o, or u. I’ve never bought into that “sometimes ‘y’” thing.

  10. tfhr Says:

Oh yeah, and I think Joe Biden’s gift for clear thinking, succinct speech, and foreign policy expertise is the hidden jewel of the Obama administration.

  11. mare Says:

Chuck, what are the odds that two commenters at Mitchieville would be from Tacoma?

  12. nancy Says:

    mm-mm-mm Barack Hussein Obama

  13. Nurse Kate Says:

    Tacoma, Maryland, or Tacoma ,Washington?

    That is the question.

  14. dmorris Says:

    dmorris, not Nurse Kate.

  15. Andy Says:

Dangit dmorris! Would you please fix your commenting dealie!!! It’s hard to know whether I should be straightforward with dmorris, or “put the moves” on Nurse Kate while commenting.

I came back to this thread to make the MOST EVER reverse comment imaginable. But when I saw that Nurse Kate was in the mix, I forgot what it was. I think it had something to do with “doing it” with Jennifer Anniston back in high school, or wanting to “do it” with The Mayor…not sure. Nurse Kate just bakes my beans, and I can’t remember not nuthin’ when she comments!

But I know for sure that either one would have been WAAAAAAY “flip-flop” from the truth.

  16. Larry Says:

Michael Jackson’s death left a deep scar on my soul that will probably never heal.

  17. mare Says:

    Ha, Larry!

Nurse Kate, I didn’t know there was a Tacoma, Maryland.

  18. dmorris Says:

Sorry, Canadian mistake,it’s Takoma Park,Maryland. In all the U.S.A., there’s only ONE Tacoma, and that’s the one in Washington State.

Btw,did ya know: “In 2006, women’s magazine Self named Tacoma the “Most Sexually Healthy City” in the United States.”

Makes us B.C.’ers kinda jealous, although Vancouver was once voted “Second most twisted city in North America”.

Andy, Kate’s gone home now, so there’ll be no more of those mis-named posts from me.
