The Republicans Would Like To Thank Susan Bolton…
Sometimes, not everything is as it seems. For instance, take a good look at the debate over Arizona’s Immigration Bill SB1070. Late last week, Susan Bolton granted an injunction halting the enforcement of key provisions of the Arizona immigration enforcement law. On the surface, you would think that would be a crushing blow to those that support Bill SB1070 (it’s as if the SB part of the bill stands for *Susan Bolton* – hmmmm) and a victory for the Obama Administration. But The Mayor is telling you that is not how things are turning out.
The Obama administration threw its support in with the anti-SB1070 crowd to shore up the Latino vote. With Obama’s poll numbers going down quicker than Lindsay Lohan at a prisoner meet-and-greet, the Obamaites thought it wise to be on the side with the folks that brought him to the dance. Not a bad idea. But like all of Obama’s ideas, it is turning out to be an unmitigated disaster.
Funny thing, it turns out that Americans aren’t actually in favour of illegal immigration like the President is. At last look, about 63% of Americans are in favour of SB1070, while less than 30% support it, while the remainder of those polled cannot remember their first names or where they live.
To make matters worse, not only is Obama seen as weak on immigration, this is a topic that will stick around EVERY DAY until the November election. Every single day you will be bombarded with stories about the Arizona Law; sure, you may not see these stories on the msm, as they will be too busy covering the explosive Breitbart controversy, or the endless coverage about how racist the Tea Party is (as well as Sarah Palin) – but there will be plenty of news about Arizona’s Immigration Law. And every time something is written, another reminder of how weak Obama is will come to every single persons mind.
Had the msm been doing its job – covering up these types of topics that prove embarrassing to the President – we wouldn’t have heard things like, “Mexican’s take over parts of Arizona“, or, “Illegal aliens are killing more Americans than the Iraq war“, or even “how many illegal immigrants are there really in the US” (about 30 million – but don’t worry, they’re all contributing to the economy and America’s social fabric, dontchaknow).
But now the things we were told are not true are turning out to be deadly true. Things we might not have heard before are being screamed from the rooftops. Articles that would never have been written as little as a year ago are suddenly deemed as mainstream. Information didn’t just leak out, it poured out. It’s the way things should always have been.
Obama is feeling the heat and has responded as only he knows how – by showing up on daytime TV to explain how great he really is. Last week he was on The View (Reuter’s said it was *historic* – as in, important) to mingle with the peasants. I’m sure in between talking about the price of arugula and the needle count of his bed sheets, Obama can explain to Oprah or Maury, or whatever other chick show he’s on, how evil the Arizona Immigration Law is. He’s a really smart guy, any JournoLIST will tell ya!
