It’s actually a good memory of mine from childhood, my grandmother that lived to be 100 did this for me often enough, as my mom didn’t know how.
I never thought it was uncomfortable, rather that I thought is was perfect that my grandmother would do this for me… yeah I know some of my good memories are messed up. that’s ok.

Homesteading is coming back in a big way. It’s best to know as much as we can, start to pick up what our parents and grandparents knew – like preserving, canning, darning, gardening.
It’ll be life and death one day, best to know as much as we can to survive.
