Mitchieville’s Mad Manic MesmErizing Mystery Movie

Hey, did you catch the Oscars last night??!! Ya, me either.

But, like you, The Mayor did catch last week’s Mitchieville’s Mystery Movie, and he liked what he saw. Even his good eye liked what he saw. He saw Ryan, Wolfie, the Retired Geez, Marc in Calgary and Dmorris all correctly identify The Shawshank Redemption as the mystery movie, AND he also liked that The Retired Geez correctly chose 73 as the winning Chinese Pirated DVD winning #. Meaning, if The Retired Geez sends The Mayor his home address, three pieces of ID and his PIN#, he will be the proud owner of a slightly used copy of MONSTERS.

Wow. The hits they keep on comin’!

Okay. okay, this isn’t the TSA. enough of the patdown. A home address will suffice.

This week’s movie is one of The Mayor’s all-time favourites. And for good reason. It’s a sci-fi film from 1976 starring Michael York, Richard Jordan, with guest appearance by Peter Ustinov and Farrah Fawcett. Here is how the movie is described by the pointy heads at IMDB:

An idyllic sci-fi future has one major drawback: life must end at 30.

Say what now? The Mayor knows what movie this is yet the description is making him have doubts.

The person who correctly identifies this week’s mystery movie AND guesses the number The Mayor has picked between 1 -20, will win a slightly used copy of the Nicolas Cage/Eva Mendes movie Bad Lieutenant.

A.O. Scott of At The Movies said of Bad Lieutenant, “You won’t believe it!”, while Michael Phillips of At The Movies said, “Cage is astonishing!”

Keep in mind that A.O. Scott and Michael Phillips are glue sniffers and pooch humpers.

Everyone is invited to play, The Mayor wishes you the best of luck.

    *jumps up and down

    I know, I know!

It’s Justin Beiber and Rosie O’Donnell starring in Strange Love Affair.

  2. mpalef Says:

    Logan’s Run

  3. DMorris Says:

Logan’s Run. One of my faves also. I kept hoping Jenny’s blouse would slip off a bit more but no such luck!

Since when was Nicholas Cage in “Bad Lieutenant”? Harvey Keitel, a guy that can actually emote was the star of that one.

Cage has disgusted me ever since his Oscar winning performance in “Leaving Las Vegas”, in which we never saw enough of Liz Shue’s ass, and too much of NC’s weepy face!

  4. Flea Says:

    Coonskin (1975).

The correct number is Pi, which is a bit of a cheat choosing an irrational number if you ask me.

  5. Fenris Badwulf Says:

    Yeah, it is Logans Run

  6. SOYLENT GREEN Says:

I always thought Richard Jordan was good, and of course Peter Ustinov. Too bad they’re gone.
They’re remaking that flick, you know.

  7. cudgel Says:

Coogan’s Bluff although I can’t recall Peter Ustinov being in the movie or Farrah Fawcett, btw isn’t she died?

  8. marc in calgary™ Says:

Not only is Farrah Fawcett sadly dead, but she had the lousy luck to die on the same day that a more famous guy died. Hardly even worth dying if that’s the case.

Nicholas Cage? Wasn’t he in Moonstruck? now that was entertainment.

  9. J.M. Heinrichs Says:

“Logan’s Run”; the sequel will be revamped for today’s Boomers, and will be billed as “Logan’s Walk”. There were suggestions for a prequel to be titled “Logan’s Crawl”, but the plan for a plot device called ‘Jenny’s birthday suit’ was unfortunately unfounded.
