Mitchieville’s Mad Manic MesmErizing Mystery Movie

The Mayor is certain of two things in life: 1) Mitchievillians shore do know their movies and 2) Having the stomach flu and peeing out your bum for three days isn’t as satisfying as one would think.

Mitchievillains nailed last weeks mystery movie, as every last soul identified Deliveranceas the flick du jour. What was the most popular scene among Mitchievillains? Was it the dueling banjos? Was it the line, “ He got a real pretty mouth ain’t he?” Or, was it the part when Bobby got buggered by the three toothed dude?

Hard to say. Perhaps a combination of the three. Most likely it was the part when Ned Beatty got nailed against a tree, or the part where Ned Beatty got nailed against a tree. Interesting, The Mayor just typed that sentence twice. Strange that.

Today’s movie is hard to identify from the picture, but The Mayor is sure that after a few clues everything will become clear as mud. Here’s one description of this 1974 flick from IMDB:

A sadistic warden asks a former pro quarterback, now serving time in his prison, to put together a team of inmates to take on (and get pummeled by) the guards.

Add in stars such as Burt Reynolds, Eddie Albert, Ed Lauter and James Hampton, and The Mayor is sure his constituents are seeing fence. As in home run. As in now you know what the title of this movie is.

Here’s one final clue in case you’re still slackjawed over this flick – there was a remake of this movie a few years back that starred that imbecile Adam Sandler.

NOW you know what this movie is? Oh man.

I encourage all Mitchievilleians to enter the Mayor’s generous contests.

Today, I received my prizes from the Mystery Movie contest that I won a few weeks ago.
Imagine my surprise to discover that there was a bonus DVD of the Mayor, himself, Pumping Iron, while TLDG stood by and applauded.

Perhaps it was an accident, who can tell.

I’ll be posting it on YouTube shortly, as soon as I figure out how to edit out the Mayor’s Bulging Biceps.

    Thanks from the Idaho Geezer

The Longest Yard. It was rated “M” when it came out, and I wasn’t old enough to get in. So my older brother (who was 17) bought a ticket, went in to the theater, and let me in the exit door. Well, we did that a lot, but it was usually me letting him and his buddies in.
