Doctors removed a 5 cm nail (2″) from a South Korean mans head after he admitted himself to hospital complaining of headaches. After examining and interviewing the man, doctors concluded the nail was from the result of an accident four years earlier, yet the man was oblivious to it.

Many of you are probably wondering how a guy can go around life with a 5 cm nail stuck in his head and not even notice, but I’m here to tell you that it’s completely possible. Like the time I went to hospital complaining of a small pain in the back on my head. After a thorough examination, the doctors concluded that seven years prior, a bizarre accident had left an entire fire hydrant stuck in my head. Yet I never noticed.

Sure, I should have clued in when fire trucks pulled along side my skull from time to time and hooked up large hoses to my face, but until it happens to you, I’d say you shouldn’t be so gosh damned quick to judge.

The X-rays to the right show how the handle to the faucet on which Zhao had impaled himself penetrated about an inch deep into his eye socket. According to a CEN report, Zhao eventually grew tired of waiting for the pipework to be removed and, to the surprise of doctors, pulled it out of his head himself. While the man had suffered a fractured nose and facial bones from the ordeal, doctors said his brain and vision did not appear to be permanently affected.

Which proves that patience is not a virtue and is completely over-rated.

That’s all I got, I got nothing.

This is what happened to 17 month old Nicholas Holderman of Kentucky after he fell. At first the doctors thought the keys may have ruptured the child’s eyeball, but miraculously, the keys shot upwards into his eyelid, avoiding his eyeball completely.

The child is fine, nothing a few hours of surgery and a couple Pudding Pops couldn’t fix. As for driving though? His parents have suspended his privilege for one whole month.

This is an interesting story. An 11 year old Chinese boy, Liu Cheong, was shot in the face with a 16″ arrow. In retrospect, that wasn’t an interesting story at all., but it was a solid visual.

It took four hours of doctors chipping away at the boys skull, but they were able to remove the projectile and the child is fine.

Now when Liu and his friends are playing with bow and arrows and get a perfect shot, they now refer to it as a Cheong Eye. Kids can be cruel, even in China.

As far as knife meeting head goes, Wen Wen, 38, of Central China is no slouch. The knife in his head, courtesy of his father-in-law, went from his right ear straight into his nasal cavity. Miraculously, the knife missed several major organs and he is suppose to make a full recovery. He is now known in certain circles as China’s fortunate cookie. Not really, but he could be. You never know.
