Tom Adam’s, former executive director of Energy Probe, is warning Ontario residents that hydro rates are ready to go through the roof:

Electricity prices in Ontario are “going up like a rocket,” fuelled in part by the Ontario government’s Green Energy Act, says a longtime observer of the province’s energy scene.

“You are going to get screwed, and it’s going to be painful,” said Tom Adams, a Toronto-based consultant and a former executive director of Energy Probe.

“We’re talking about hundreds of dollars a year out of your pocketbook that didn’t need to happen. I’m livid about it. People should be outraged.”

Adams warned that Ontarians should expect to pay at least $110 more a year by the end of 2011 for electricity. That translates into an additional nine-per-cent increase.

After that, rates will move steadily up for four or five years, he predicted.

The OEB has already received several applications for more hefty rate increases.

Hydro One, which operates most of the province’s long-distance transmission lines, has asked for a hike of 15.7 per cent in 2011 and 9.8 per cent in 2012. If approved, the increases would apply to the transmission portion of electricity bills.

Ontario Power Generation, which produces about 70 per cent of Ontario’s power, has asked for a 6.2-per-cent price increase effective next March. It scaled that back from 9.6 per cent after pressure from Energy Minister Brad Duguid.

Traditionally, Ontarians have paid less for power than Americans. But now, said Adams, “we are leaving them in our dust.”

He calculated that Ontario electricity rates passed the average U.S. price for the first time early this year, and are now nearly 15 per cent higher.

Adams assigned much of the blame for the rise in electricity rates to Ontario’s Green Energy Act, which promotes the use of solar, wind and other alternative power sources.

The Feed-in Tariff (FIT) program, which locks in generous payments for 20 years for large green energy projects, is “just outrageous,” Adams said.

The program’s rates are far in excess of current electricity prices. The FIT program, for example, offers producers between 44.3 cents and 71.3 cents per kilowatt hour for solar power, and between 13.5 and 19 cents for wind power.

By contrast, the average weighted price for electricity so far this year is 4.02 cents per kilowatt hour.

In The Mayor’s opinion, FIT is a great program because it benefits the rich – like me – while completely ignoring the poor. The poor can eat cake. There’s not a snowballs chance in hell any middle class or poorish family will ever be able to retrofit their house with solar panels, geothermal heating and cooling or a freakin’ windmill. For one thing, it’s ridiculously expensive, and for another thing, the rate of return on any of those products usually takes 10-15 years, and poor people aren’t known as “forward-thinking” consumers.

For the rich, this is a boon, plain and simple. They get massive tax credits to install solar, thermal and wind, and then they get paid up to 15x what the going rate is when they send the power back to the grid. Yup, 15 times. It’s too bad I can’t capitalize the number 15, it would look really impressive. FIFTEEN TIMES. Naw, that’s not as impressive.

So now we have rich folk – like The Mayor – getting tax credits out the wazoo, and then getting paid 10-15x the going rate to produce power. A $20,000 investment today will be paid off in about 12 years. After that, passive income until the Lord calls my name and brings me home…where there will be unlimited electricity.

And as an extra bonus – because we rich folk needs extra bonuses more than the poor (it’s scientifically proven) – the FIT rate is locked in for 20 years. I believe the sound you hear is one of a cash register ching, ching, chinging along.

So that’s it for FIT, I believe we can all agree that saving the rich money at the expense of everyone else is a fantastic idea.

And then we have the HST that screws everyone for an extra 8%.

Pay it. Pay it and smile. Without it, the provincial government might not be able to offer a vegetarian alternative at the free breakfast program in our publically funded schools.

And btw – the gst you use to pay on retiring Ontario Hydro’s debt? Yaaaaaa, well, you’ll be paying hst on that now.

Have a good nights sleep.

A “secret” government survey released yesterday showed that 71% of Sri Lankan *refugees* have gone back to the country that persecuted them at some point, for holidays, to sponsor a family member, or for business:

According to a secret government survey reported by QMI Agency Sunday, 71% of Tamil refugees in Canada who responded to the survey travelled back to Sri Lanka for vacations, business, or to sponsor a family member, bringing into question the legitimacy of their refugee claim.

To put that in perspective, the 500 or so refugees that came to Canada a few weeks ago ALL claimed refugee status, the overwhelming majority did so on the basis that they were persecuted in Sri Lanka. Of those 500, and relying on the statistics of this newly released report, over the next few years, 350 will go back to to the place where they were *persecuted*, in order to conduct business or for their personal pleasure.

According to our own government, even when refugees lie about their refugee claim, it’s nearly impossible to kick them out of the country. Why then doesn’t the government tighten up our refugee laws? That’s the magic question, but luckily for you, I’m a magician and am able to tell you.

Without plantation workers, or as they are called in pc circles, “refugees”, who is going to pay for the baby boomers’ pensions when they start retiring in massive waves starting this year? It’s no secret that white Canadians aren’t having enough babies to keep our population growing, much less keeping it steady. The baby boomers – who are selfish assholes, I must add – always made sure to get the best and keep the best for themselves. Sure, they will be the last ones to receive Canada pension, as there will be no more money left in it in another 20 years, but what the hell, as long as they have their collective selfish asses wiped then all is good.

Seeing as though regular ole “Steve” and “Joe” Canadian can no longer fill the pension tank for the baby boomers, Canadian liberal governments looked at the situation and thought that starting immediately, it better bring in a poo load of plantation workers or the biggest voting group in Canada are going to get very upset very soon when they find out there’s actually no money left for their treats and entitlements.

So, starting with Trudeau and the magic of multiculturalism, instead of working on any form of sustainablility or to fix the problems they had created, successive governments decided instead to use immigrants as plantation workers, to fill the needs of the most important group of people to ever walk the earth – baby frickin’ boomers.

PLUS, immigrants typically vote for those that brought them to the dance – in other words, liberals.

Don’t get me wrong though, when it comes to immigration, Conservative governments have acted like little cowards and have been useless as the day is long. And the current Conservative government is no different, because if they were then things WOULD be different, right? Right.

Secondly, immigration is a boom industry. Those is power can stack the refugee boards and panels with their friends, featherbedding themselves and their families, creating high paying government jobs for like-minded zombies who otherwise couldn’t find a decent job in the workforce because they are usually stupid, lazy, unskilled idiots.

Tada!

I told you I was a magician. Case closed.

A new bill backed by the Obama White House would require all businesses to provide to the government data about employee pay as it relates to the sex, race and national origin of employee’s:

In an orchestrated effort that included a statement by President Barack Obama and an event at the White House featuring Vice President Joe Biden, Attorney General Eric Holder and Labor Secretary Hilda Solis, the president and his cabinet endorsed the Paycheck Fairness Act.

The House approved the act in 2009, but the Senate did not approve it. In the 111th Congress, both the House and the Senate have offered legislation that covers a wide range of workplace requirements and regulations, including training girls and women to become better at negotiating pay and benefits, and the establishment of a data base of U.S. workers’ pay in both the public and private sector.

The White House’s official line is that this bill is needed in order to achieve true pay equity among the sexes:

“Women make up nearly half of all workers on U.S. payrolls, and two-thirds of families with children are headed either by two working parents or by a single parent who works,” Biden said.

“Yet, the workplace has, for the most part, not changed to reflect these realities – and it must. Closing the gender pay gap, helping parents keep their jobs while balancing family responsibilities, and increasing workplace flexibility – these are not only women’s issues, they are issues of middle class economic security,” he said.

One thing American businesses need at this time; even more than relief from crushing taxes, a wealth destroying depression, and having zero access to any type of small business loans; even more than that, businesses need and want the government to step in and address the issue of “increasing workplace flexibility” and “helping families balance their responsibilities”.

Thank goodness for the forward-thinking Obama administration.

So this bill is all about pay equity, yes? Hahaha, surely you jest:

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Obama said it was discrimination in the workplace that is harming the economy and American families.

“Yet, even in 2010, women make only 77 cents for every dollar that men earn. The gap is even more significant for working women of color, and it affects women across all education levels,” the statement said.

You see, it’s not wealth destroying personal and business taxes that are harming American families, or even insane and ill-advised government policies – it’s not even the absolute crippling deficits that are going to be thrust upon your children and great grandchildren: it’s workplace pay discrimination that’s the problem.

How will the government “fix” this? Simple – by opening up the books of every single business in America and MANDATING them to pay the EXACT same amount to each employee, no matter if those employees that make less are stupid, slow, retarded, illegal, uneducated or disabled.

Joleelo the cashier, who is blind in one eye and can’t see in the other, and can only do 1/3 of the work that the white devil Fred can, will now make the same as Fred. Fred’s ability be damned, Joleelo has 8 kids to feed.

Employers are not allowed to ask about race, sex or national origin when hiring an employee, but now they will be forced to supply the government with that information, even though technically they are not suppose to know it. Gawd help an employer who tells the government that Steve is a Native Indian when Steve is actually from Mainland China. Hell, Steve may be a chick.

It won’t stop there, of course, it never does and literally can’t. Next the government will want to know why the Piggly Wiggly has 14 employee’s, but only two are black, only one is a lesbian and only one has a limp. That isn’t a true representation of American society. Even if that Piggly Wiggly IS in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where the last African American spotted there was back in 1983. Too bad, Wiggly, pay the fine and move along.

This bill is yet another bone thrown to the snarling mutt trial lawyers that helped that halfrican American President roll up to power a year and a half back. This will be a BOON for trial lawyers. Sue, sue, sue.

Another nail in the coffin for American business.

Canada’s own Helen Thomas, New Democrat MP Libby Davies, is in hot water from the reigning Conservative gov’t and opposition Liberals after remarks she made questioning Israel’s legitimacy:

When asked, “When do you believe that the occupation in Israel started — ‘48 or 67?” Davies says 1948, the year Israel became a state.

“The only conclusion you can draw from what she said is that there is no legitimacy to Israel’s existence since 1948,” said Liberal MP Bob Rae.

“Someone who would say such a thing and who would mouth these words and says these things should not have a serious political office in a major political party.”

Davies had posted a letter on her website apologizing for her remarks last week, and insisting her answer was little more than an honest mistake.

“My reference to the year 1948 as the beginning of the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territory was a serious and completely inadvertent error,” she wrote.

“I apologize for this and regret any confusion it has caused.”

But Harper used the incident as cannon fodder in the fight with the NDP over Afghan detainee documents, likening her position on the Middle East to the NDP’s refusal to go along with Tuesday’s agreement on how best to bring Parliament into the loop on the detainee paper trail.

When Layton accused Harper of hiding the truth by refusing to freely release all the documents, Harper turned the tables.

“The only person hiding the truth here is the leader of the NDP, who has a deputy leader and a House leader who says that Israel’s existence inside its pre-1967 boundaries is an occupation,” Harper said during Question Period.

Harper then likened Davies to longtime Washington journalist Helen Thomas, who was forced to retire last week after saying Jews should leave Israel and go back to Poland or Germany.

“The member of the NDP who said that should be forced to resign as well,” Harper said.

Layton said Davies had apologized, and neither she nor the NDP denies Israel’s right to exist.

Apologized for what exactly?

It always amazes The Mayor when asked about Israel, how articulate leftists are in their opinions. But the SECOND there is any blowback about their views, they immediately curl up like a salt laden slug and take the “no hablo inglis” position. For the love of any God but the Christian God, take a freakin’ stance and stick to it.

It’s all on video, Libby Davies at a ANTI-Israel rally, there was a PROTESTER with a sign that read “The world says NO to Israel OCCUPATION” standing right beside her, and when the guy with the camera asks Libby a question about Israel, she answers, *This is the longest OCCUPATION in the world”.

It doesn’t get any more cut & dry than that, does it?

So to say there was some sort of confusion and misunderstanding, well, that’s simply ridiculous. The only confusion is in Libby Davies pea-sized brain.

Make no mistake about it, Libby Davies may be the dumbest person EVER to enter Canadian politics. She is an embarrassment and a complete dim bulb. She deserves preferential parking spots at malls. Sorry, I lost where I was going with this.

Anyway, being dumb is one thing, but to apologize for something you believe in is plain pathetic. I can excuse dumb, people don’t generally have a choice in that matter, but I can’t excuse pathetic, it disgusts me and shows me what a weak reptile Libby Davies is.

As for Stephen Harper and the Liberal Attack Machine®, they might want to reconsider calling for Davies resignation over this matter. Especially considering Harper has no problem bringing in about 200,000 immigrants every year that believe EXACTLY the same thing as what Libby Davies thinks she may or may not believe depending on who’s listening and which way the wind’s blowing. If we follow Harper’s lead and call for the firings of every person who believes what Libby Davies believes, well, there will be a hell of a lot of job openings come tomorrow.

And as for the liberals, they might want to watch what they’re saying, too. If Rae and The Count now believe the same thing Harper does, it’ll get real interesting come election time when all those liberals who are looking for votes in Scarborough, Mississauga, Milton, etc, come a-callin’ on all those new Moslem neighbourhoods. You see, word on the street tells The Mayor that there are quite a few Moslems that have some sort of problem with the Jews. I don’t what problem, give me a second to Google it.

My point is this: Harper and the liberals should shut their mouths. This is still a democracy, and even though Davies is about as smart as a chunk of cinderblock, she still has every right to say what she said. I just wish though she’d wear a burqa so we didn’t have to look at that rat-chewed face of hers.

The end. Now, let’s dance!

Hey, is that Opposition leader, Michael Ignatief? Golly, he’s just like you and I; watching hockey with his friends, hanging out and having a good time. I suppose the only difference is that when we hang out with our friends when we watch hockey, we lose our ties and jackets for a few hours. And when we watch hockey, real men will actually drink beer, not pink wine or wine coolers. Plus, we tend to have coffee tables, that’s where we keep the snack foods and also doubles as a place for our drinks and feet. I suppose another thing when we watch hockey, or any tv show for that matter, is that we try not to watch a standard signal stretched on an HD screen. Cuz stretchy hockey players look kinda silly and just not right. Yaaaa, and we don’t invite the media over to take pictures of us to prove that we are just normal peoples. And we try to find chairs for our friends so they don’t have to stand up for THREE HOURS.

Iggy says Montreal is Canada’s team, and he’s probably right, at least from a liberal mindset; the Habs have more foreigners playing for them than they do actual Canadians, and neither the Liberal party or the Habs have a captain.

It seems the “person of interest” the state-controlled media were talking about for the last few days – you know, white male in his 40’s, walking away from the scene – turns out to be a Pakistani born American citizen. Oops, it makes sense, but hardly fits the narrative:

A U.S. citizen of Pakistani origins is due in a New York court today to face charges over the attempted car bombing in Times Square on May 1.

Faisal Shahzad will appear in Manhattan federal court on “formal charges,” the U.S. attorney’s office for the southern district of New York said in an e-mailed statement, without being more specific.

Agents from the Department of Homeland Security arrested Shahzad at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport last night as he was attempting to board a flight to Dubai, U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder said at an early morning news conference in Washington. The announcement came less than three days after a botched bombing attempt that led police to evacuate parts of Times Square.

“This investigation is ongoing, as are our attempts to gather useful intelligence, and we continue to pursue a number of leads,” Holder said. “But it’s clear that the intent behind this terrorist act was to kill Americans.”

I sure hope the Marshall’s didn’t ask this gentleman for his ID, because that would be racist.

In the next few days, look for the state-controlled media to spin this around to make it seem like the Pakistani gentleman who wanted to cause a man-made disaster, was a lone wolf type of man-made disaster causer and not part of a bigger plot or tied to any terrorist organization. Even though the Pakistani Taliban have taken credit for this, and even though the potential man-made disaster causer is Pakistani, those two facts will not be allowed to meet.

Everything is hunky dorey, now go on home and have a good sleep tonight.

We are going to have to come up with some kind of regulation to get it away from you. Anyone who has more than others clearly got it through dishonest, exploitative methods and white privilege, so it’s not like you deserve it.

America is such an awful place! All we do is exploit the whole world. I think I’ll continue living here under the blanket of liberty and prosperity my forefathers gave me, though. You know, the white, male slave owners. What fucking assholes.

California’s last auto plant closed last week, allowing its 4700 workers to spend more time with their families and to contemplete what hope & change really means:

The plant made Toyota Tacoma trucks and Corolla sedans. The last Tacoma rolled off the assembly lines last week, and Corolla production ended Thursday.

The plant began 25 years ago as a joint venture between Toyota Motor Corp. and General Motors Co. GM pulled out last year, and Toyota later announced it would halt production, eliminating about 4,700 jobs.

State officials are pursuing federal grants to help those impacted by the closure.

Considering the 4700 workers will be wards of the state soon enough, it’s good to see state officials pursuing federal grants to help their wards out.

Typically there aren’t many upsides when a company closes its doors and terminates all its employees. In California, there are ONLY upsides. For instance, now that this evil car company has shut its doors, there will be no more carbon emissions spewing from its smoke stacks, meaning, the Green Hunchbacked Frog will now be able to breathe fresher air. Bonus.

Also, people without jobs eat far less than those earth-rapists that have jobs. This will please Michelle Obama and her obesity task force.

Detroit’s pro-business environment has resonated so well with businesses that now things are going so peachy there is a recommendation to plow 90% of Detroit into the ground and turn it into a farming community. This will work doubly well in California, where the tree hugging, Birkenstock wearing, Segway driving, bong-smoking, lazy, liberal retards that try to pass as actual human beings with functioning braincells, well, they’re gonna love what’s in store for them. Perhaps they can plow the auto plant into the ground and grow soybeans in its place.
