The investigation into Iowa’s “beat whitey night” is complete. Des Moines police spokeswoman Sgt. Lori Lavorato has been demoted and reassigned, with loss of compensation and privileges. It was she who said on camera it was “possible” the random assaults on whites by roving black gangs at the Iowa State Fair could have been sorta maybe racially motivated. Because non-events can only involve non-persons, her likeness has probably been removed from precinct newletters. Notice also the beatings have been recast as “fights”, apparently somebody may have tried to defend themselves. Here’s the good news: the not-beatings are surely at an end. The only real troublemaker has been identified and punished. Iowans can go back to sleep.
